WHO AM I....?

I forget how many times I've heard people say they are passionate about helping people but I promise you, I really am!
I trained way back in the late 1980's as a Human Resource Professional just as companies were beginning to see their people as just that, people! So whilst dancing to Kylie and Jason and Spandau Ballet in frilly shirts and legwarmers, I learnt an awful lot about what makes people tick. 
Having spent over 30 years in the profession latterly as a Human Resources Director in London, I made a huge decision to change my life entirely and embarked on #ouradventurebeforedementia with my husband! We spent a fabulous year travelling the world during which time, I planned my reinvention! Well, if it's good enough for Kylie.....! 
So, Michelle Parfitt, Professional Celebrant was born and I embarked upon my training with the International College of Professional Celebrants; as someone whose previous career was to develop others, it's important to me that I am properly trained in what I do else how do my clients know that I can help them create the ceremony they've always wanted.  
At this point I also relocated from Kent, my county of birth and where I always thought I would retire, to settle in Devon! The good thing is that the walks and the pubs are very similar so I feel at home here already! That said, I am more than happy to work in the South West as well as the South East and if you want to work with me, I will happily go where you want me to be (and with my love of travel, destination ceremonies sound great too!) I am fully insured too so you can book my services with confidence.
My aim is to make the most important days in my clients’ lives as memorable and enjoyable as possible. Throughout my career, I’ve learned to be flexible and sensitive to people with all their unique needs and preferences as well as to deliver with passion! I hope you’ll let me make your day unique. You won’t regret it. Oh and I promise, I don't wear the legwarmers anymore!
